Welcome to Malibu

A meditative atmosphere with oceanfront property

Malibu is a stylish coastal city spanning over 20 miles of coastline and surrounded by expansive state parks within the Santa Monica Mountain Range. It is home to seven beaches and scenic trails leading up to the rocky, shored cliffs of Point Dume. It boasts hiking trails like Zuma Canyon Trailhead, Zuma Ridge Trailhead, Izumi Trail Coastal Overlook, Escondido Falls, and Solstice Canyon. Residents love Malibu’s Ocean and mountain views, making it a neighborhood with a retreat-like feel. Malibu homes are lavish and modern. Many of them are oceanfront. Burdge Architects have designed Malibu homes, as well as the highly esteemed architect Steven Kent. Though it is serene and feels pleasantly removed from the hustle and bustle of a large city, it is only a 40-minute coastal cruise along Highway One to Los Angeles International Airport.

Many celebrities and those seeking refuge are drawn to this city for its unplugged, spacious vibe. Zuma Beach is a great place to soak in the sun, and Point Dume State Beach is a picturesque and private feeling, beach cove surrounded by reddish, jagged cliffs. Geoffrey’s is a beloved Malibu fine dining establishment with ocean views serving Californian cuisine. Paradise Cove, another oceanfront restaurant, is known for its seafood and cocktail menus. When residents are not enjoying the culinary treasures or beaches of Malibu, they are luxuriating in the comfort of their own homes or hiking a mountainous Malibu trail.

It is easy to shake off stress in Malibu with a rewarding hike, a day at the beach, a delicious meal at an oceanfront restaurant, or by relaxing in the beautiful setting of your home.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Moonshadows Malibu boasts panoramic coastal views and specializes in seafood dishes like their tender barbecued octopus appetizer served with fingerling potatoes and cannellini beans. Nobu Malibu is an upscale Japanese restaurant with coastal views and cozy outdoor seating. Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market and Café is a local favorite serving entrees of freshly caught seafood in their café or freshly cleaned catches in their market for preparation at home.

The Malibu Café at Calamigos Ranch serves thoughtfully crafted cocktails and savory entrees like their pork rack tomahawk, served with midnight moon, grilled stone fruit, Swiss chard, Anson Mills polenta, pine nuts, and pork jus. Malibu is also home to open-air, upscale shopping centers like Malibu Country Market and Trancas Country Market, showcasing high-end hair salons, artisanal coffee and confection shops, and grocers selling local and sustainably grown and harvested food, and boutique apparel shops.

Things to Do

Wine tasting is popular in Malibu. Malibu Solstice Vineyard offers vacation rentals with stunning views and wine tastings of their Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. Rosenthal The Malibu Estate Wine Bar and Patio serves flights of reds, whites, roses, and sparkling wines with an impressive food menu of Thai-inspired dishes. Calamigos Ranch is a popular destination for weddings, conferences, or simply a beautiful place to dine. Cielo Farms offers wine tastings and can also be rented for large events. Colcanyon Estate Wines prides itself on using as little irrigation as possible and working with nature to grow and harvest its grapes. 100% of their profits also go to the California Wildlife Center to serve the protection of California’s wildlife.

If you want to see them all or want to treat guests to a fun, local outing, consider booking a wine hiking tour with Malibu Wine Hikes. When it comes to parks, Malibu has some of this region’s finest, including Paramount Ranch. Paramount Ranch is a gorgeous park nestled into the Santa Monica Mountains with windswept Wild Oak trees. It is an iconic park where movies like “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” and “Caught in the Draft” were filmed. Sherwood Country Club, another local favorite, is only a 30-minute drive from Malibu.
